Week Notes 24#23

A big tough going back to a five day week 🫣 But got the oapi-codegen release out, some interesting talks at Tidelift Upstream and a new TV 👀

• Got the v2.2.0 release of oapi-codegen out 🚀
  • I ended up not getting to all the issues I wanted to, as I instead wanted to get it out as ...
  • This was a big one because it means we could now move to the new organisation, which also unlocks being able to have more control over the repo, clean up a few things, move to main and be officially on GitHub Sponsors for the org
  • Got the release prepped and finished 👏🏼
  • Speakeasy are also a sponsor now 👏🏼 Very appreciative of the sponsorship
• Woke up one day and my watch hadn't charged, but luckily noticed and charged it a bit more before I left to walk Cookie 🙃
• I've had Collide on repeat a lot this week 🎶
• Wrote up how I use Neovim for my SQL(ite) queries
  • Involved implementing a couple of extra things, in particular doing some fun with Lua to make a :Datasette function
  • Had some good traffic from Lemmy (~200 hits at time of writing)
  • Ended up incorrectly committing the demos and - because it was already starting to get some hits - ended up manually uploading the correct casts to the S3 bucket while waiting for the pipeline to push an update to my site
• Playing around with converting JSON Schema to Go has reminded me how nice it is that oapi-codegen exists for other use-cases and that it handles a lot of common use-cases I could want, and that maybe I do need to make it more generic
• Had an excellent Asda pizza 😋
• We got a new TV! Finally after a good few years of talking about it
  • But as mentioned, it didn't go super well 🫣
  • Fortunately we got a TV mount that so far has held the TV, but we were rather on edge when it was first put on it 😅
  • We also got a Philips Hue Play light strip, which is super bright and cool, albeit we've not yet tried to sync it up with the TV
• My interview with Jennifer for the New Stack was published which was a good read, alongside some other folks' great thoughts
• Had a lovely overnight stay with my parents to celebrate Cat and Bernard's engagement 🥰
• Had the Costco Korean Fried Chicken with scrambled eggs one day which was 😋
• Lost one of Cookie's balls on the park and ended up spending quite some time looking for it to no avail 😞
• Morph's been very cute and adamant that the living room being slightly different structurally to the previous setup is that he should now be allowed in by Cookie, which so far has worked
